      Let’s face it, reducing plastic waste is challenging .
      Here are some simple tips to help you reduce waste:

      •Go lidless when getting coffee

      •When having takeaway, consider what packaging it will come in

      •Take your reusable bags to the supermarket

      •Try buying products loose rather than pre-packaged

      •When ordering online ask for less packaging, and if brands don’t have recycling labels ask them how to discard packaging.

      This year our core focus has been to reduce the impact we have on our planet. We have been looking at ways to become more sustainable, with an aim to provide activewear that is not only kind to your body but kind to the environment too. 
      Recycled Polyester Fabric
      One of the most effective ways we can have a positive impact on the planet is to choose fabrics that are sustainable. With a focus on including sustainable materials in our ranges , we have launched activewear sets made from recycled polyester. Our recycled polyester comes from a certified and accredited facility – guaranteeing that the fabric used has come from a post-consumer recycled source. 

      To make recycled polyester fabric, plastic PET containers are broken into flakes, where they are then melted and made into shaped pellets. The pellets are then melted and extruded (think being squeezed through a shower head) to make fibre. The fibre is then crimped, cut, drawn , stretched and baled, where it is processed into yarn then to fabric.

      Our commitment is to continue to create activewear sets made from post – consumer waste, saving water, energy and reducing carbon emissions.

      Organic Cotton
        At the end of 2020 we will be launching tees made from a blend of organic cotton. Organic cotton is free from synthetic chemicals such as pesticides and herbicides which have substantial risks to the ecosystem . The organic cotton used in our tees are grown without the use of these chemicals and to global standards of organic cotton farming.
        Packaging
        In addition to fabric-based improvements, we are looking at improving our packaging. In full support of the Australia government’s 2025 National Packaging Targets (all packaging is to become recyclable, reusable or compostable by 2025), we have taken the first step of adding the ARL (Australasian Recycle Logos) onto our packaging, highlighting how to dispose of the packaging correctly. Keep an eye out for the little recycling logos on our packaging on your next purchase.

        We have also reduced the size of our polybag, changing from one single sized to two smaller ones. This has resulted in an overall reduction of 43% plastic on the smaller sizes (that your leggings and crops come in) and a 17% reduction on for all other styles.

        Care instructions
        We have designed our products to be washed in a way which reduces your impact on the environment. Please follow the care instructions on you B.O.D garments, as washing them in cold water and line drying is not only better for the environment by reducing your carbon emissions and water used, it will make your B.O.D goodies last longer.
        Ethical sourcing
        All garments within our range are carefully crafted by our partnered suppliers. All of our suppliers undergo rigorous ethical auditing to ensure that they operate within the fundamental human rights highlighted in the Ethical Trading Initiatives Base Code, along with other ethical and environmental considerations. 

        This is just the beginning. We are continuing our journey to producing conscious activewear that embodies the values of sustainability, ethical sourcing and protection of the planet.

          Provides a pathway for recycled materials.
          Gives the polyester an extended second life, which will be used many more times than something like a plastic bottle.
          Reduces our reliance on natural resources for our products.

          Let’s face it we all get overwhelmed from time to time. This can have a huge effect on our motivation and mindset. Here are some tips to help boost your motivation and increase a positive mindset. 
          Create daily habits and healthy rituals
          This can include anything from daily movement, mindful meditation, eating healthy meals, getting regular sunlight and quality sleep. Try introducing some of these habits to your everyday routine to help set your mind and body up for success. 
            Visualise the feeling you get from completing a difficult task
            When you tap into how you will feel after something is done you become more motivated to move forward.
            Remind yourself of the why
            Go back to the reason you started in the first place. What are your values? Revisit your goals and intentions!
            Create a motivating environment
            This could be anything from de-cluttering, diffusing an essential oil or adding more plants and greenery to your home.

            With everything that is going on, sometimes it can be hard to balance a healthy lifestyle. Here are a few key things I incorporate in my day to help me keep my balance.
            Routine, routine, routine!
            Keeping a routine can help you stay active, manage stress and encourage healthy habits. Start by making small changes, whether it’s moving your body more or learning to make healthier meals. It all adds up!
              Active meditation
              Meditation has been the most transforming element in my wellness journey. Dedicating time to being ‘present’, letting go of your thoughts and slowing the mind and body can have powerful effects on your wellbeing. I aim to sit for 20mins in the morning and afternoon each day.
              Do something just for you each day
              Throughout the day I try and put some time aside for myself. Whether that’s getting outside for a 15 – 20-minute walk or curling up to a good book, having a moment to myself allows me to recharge.
              Essential oils
              I love to diffuse essential oils throughout the day. I usually diffuse peppermint or ylang ylang during the day to help with my concentration and lavender or vetiver to help me unwind in the evening.
              Turning tech off an hour before bed
              I ensure that I switch off from technology an hour before bed. This helps me wind down, relax and have a good night sleep.

                Mindful Eating
                Mindfulness refers to the practice of being aware and in the moment. Mindful eating is an eating technique that can help you gain control over your eating habits. Below are a few things I do before and in between meals to help me stay in tune with my body:
                CHEW CHEW CHEW!
                While I eat, I chew a lot as well as put my fork down between meals! This gives my body time to efficiently digest the food and absorb vital nutrients. Chewing food at this meal will in fact have an impact on how you choose your next meal!
                  CONSCIOUS BREATHING
                  I make an effort to simply take deep belly breaths regularly, especially before I sit down for a meal. This can include box breathing, alternate nostril breathing or lions breath!
                  HYDRATION
                  I drink filtered water in between meals and aim for about 2L each day, depending on my activity levels. This keeps my organs & body functioning efficiently and helps to prevent unnecessary cravings or hunger cues.
                  MEDITATION
                  I aim to sit twice a day, 20mins each session. I practice Vedic meditation where I repeat a mantra softly until I forget it. This has probably been the most transformative element to my health journey to date. Not only do I feel more calm in chaotic situations, but I am certainly more connected to my body & know when I need to either pull back or push further.
                  DAILY MOVEMENT
                  Move your body daily in ways that you love and your body will thank you for it. A 10min walk around the block is better than nothing at all.
